Bearwood Golf Club is a 9 hole course that includes some alternative tees and a twin green for those wishing to play 18 holes of golf. Measuring a comfortable 5,605 yards off the back tees, the course may appear to be an easy test, but rest assured it provides a challenge for golfers of all abilities.
The two opening holes are both Par 4 and are the longest on the course, with the lowest stroke index, so be sure to warm up! The 3rd / 12th is a shorter dog-leg which offers a real chance for an early birdie if you can make a good approach to the double green. The next hole, when played as the 13th, requires a solid drive from the elevated tee over the Victorian orchard to get into range.
The 5th /14th is fairly straight forward if you hit the ball straight, but keep an eye out for the par 3 Hawtree designed 6th / 15th hole which follows. The great golf architect clearly did not want to make it easy to score ‘birdies’ and most members would be happy with a par - so we dare you to defy him! The next two holes are the most picturesque on the course - so enjoy the views - before braving the drive over the Lake!
Finally, if you can avoid the Out-Of-Bounds to the left of the final approach, a relatively straightforward finish awaits, followed by well-deserved refreshments at the 19th!
