History of Bearwood
Bearwood Golf Club is a 9-hole club situated on the picturesque Bearwood Estate near Wokingham, Berkshire. The proprietors of Bearwood Golf Club are the Trustees of the Royal Merchant Navy School Foundation, a registered charity.

The first golf course on the Estate opened in 1975 as a 9-hole public pay-and-play facility. The quality of the course continued to improve and such interest was shown by the regular players that, in 1986, Bearwood Golf Club was formed as a members’ club. Bearwood Golf Club prides itself on being a friendly and welcoming club that strives to maintain and enhance its high standards for the benefit of its members.

There have been many developments and changes over the years, a significant one being the building of a 10-bay floodlit practice range in 1997. This has been the core facility of Bearwood Golf Academy and will be an integral part of the training facilities offered to players enrolling for Academy Membership.
